It's alive! Ha-ha-ha-ha-ha!
The Goliath Frog is one bad froggy. All it can destroy at the beginning (mostly) is level 1s, but that still creates 2700 points. And if it gets a kill out of a Level 2 after that, 3500 ATK. Das one big frog!
The card takes time to get big, but big it gets. I give this thing 4/5 for the card, 4.5/5 for the artwork. _________________ The seal on my existence is broken. Ah, Goliath Frog. I wanted to show that it was, in no way, shape or form, a filler card designed for the sole purpose of allowing Kevin to trigger Zywen's Ba'al of Gluttony in the Shmod Saga.
Wait... that's exactly what it was.
Crap.
That point aside, Goliath Frog is a fantastic card. Shmod's Frog decktype is one of the of the fastest; able to summon Level 2 or higher Transformation Frogs just by summoning a Level 1 Tadpole. They do suffer from one slight flaw of not having a dependable beater card. Majestic Bullfrog's pretty good, but it can get run over fairly easily by the increasingly easy to play Noble Dragon. Wicked Frog's good too, but only in the later game.
In the early and middle game, you need a monster that grows over time. Goliath Frog's the amphibian for the job! Its larval Tadpole can easily last through Turn 1, allowing you to evolve it in Turn 2 and start controlling the game. It may not be an entire-game ATK-point behemoth, but it will gain ATK at a surprising rate.
I'll give it a nice 4.5/5. There is no reason not to run Fat Tadpole - and thus, Goliath Frog - in a Frog deck.
