I can agree that it's better for direct attacks, but they obviously intended this thing for attacks on monsters. Which, as you mentioned, isn't likely what'll be done with it. Guess it's just further proof that he corporates aren't all that in touch with what we the players want. Shame, too; a Colossal Fighter/Assault Mode had such potential.
EDIT: I just found out that Stardust Dragon/Assault Mode is going to be the Duelst Pack Tin - Yusei Promo. My crazed curustacean-lover, do you know what this means?!

Actually, pretty much all of them:
1) The agme people are actually getting in touch with what people want. Kinda.
2) The Assault Mode deck just got Waaay easier to make work.
3) One of the mos t invincible cards ever is now going to the hands of people who will abuse it.
4) Mwuhahahahahaha!

I was kinda hoping you'd respond to that. But anyway...
3) This one is somewhat different. a) it's an effect that's more versatile than anyother effect I can think of, and b) it's about as easy to get as it gets. DAD and JD were both SPScR, but SDD/AM is a Tin Promo.

And because it's easier to get, it will be within more player's grasps, and ultimately a card's abuse probability becomes exponentially higher as its price decreases. SDD/AM, in my opinion, will be the most abused card yet.

...Really? Moreso than the ENVOYS? Moreso than Dark Armed Dragon? Note, just because practically no one in Kingston has a Dark Armed Dragon doesn't mean it's not horribly abused elsewhere. And the Envoys make Stardust Dragon/Assault Mode look like Megarock Dragon (decent, but who cares when you've got Envoys?).
Rarity has nothing to do with abuse. If a card's good, people will get it.

I'm not talking about the shear power of the effect - my reason is simple versatility. The effect will negate almost everything in its way, whereas the Envoys and DAD could get stopped cold by Bottomless Trap Hole or alike. Assault Mode will just negate it.
Before I can get to my point about Rarity, I need to ask you one thing: do you have the money needed to get 2 or 3 DADs? Because that's the number of them people will usually run, given they can afford it.

Do I have the money for 2 Dark Armed Dragons? (It's limited, by the way.) Yes. I could buy two no sweat.
Again, people who play the game to abuse cards will buy any cards they need.
It's a strong effect, but it's nowhere near the Envoys. Nowhere near. So we can drop this debate, I'll hit the point home. SUMMONING CONDITIONS. Stardust Dragon isn't hard to summon, and Assault Mode Activate is searchable. BUT, that's still two specific cards used to summon a monster that you can't draw. All the Envoys needed were themselves, and for you to have played the last one or two turns even remotely well.
No Cost > Cost

Okay, I'll admit it. The almost non-existent cost does trump specific conditions. It probably won't be THE most abused card ever, but I think we can agree it will see at least it's fair share of action.
The Rarity thing - if you can buy a given card cheaper, you will. With that extra money, you can buy more of what you need. It may not increase abuse per se, but it lets you get more cards for the same price. And economizing when possible is very good for a deck.

Why would I spend $200 on a piece of CARDBOARD for a DARK deck when the only DARK deck I have is Vennominaga (and hardly Dark, at that), and said piece of cardboard is likely to be illegal in a few months?

Criticism is helpful until you take it too far. Most constructive criticism begins with, "It's a good idea, but...". What you do, in their eyes, is jump straight into the negative, without giving them any idea their efforts even mattered. on fanfiction.net, that'll get you banned if you do it in a review.

That's another problem - people having no idea what I mean.
I meant that even if I added 'It's a good idea, but...' (I do actually say 'it's a good idea' during most of my critique, so this is basically a moot point), they're already gone so it wouldn't change anything.
I accept that Jadecavy was trying to help (Alchemist didn't even say anything), and I was supportive. But I do want the game to be good.

As your friends, of course Cavy and Alchemist would side with you. "Oh, Greg's arguing with some guy I've never met. That guy's a jerk." I'd think it too if one of my friends was fighting constantly with someone I've never met.
