I'll take the following (for now):
Forest
Revival Stone
Empress of Flames
Hot Salamander
Cerebus
Revival Stone
Bulls-eye Dragon
Naardaas
Wow, that's quite the list. I'll give you three guesses which ones I'll take.
Mustang Dragon
Tsunami Dragon
Rootwater Croc
Rootwater Hunter
Metal Phoenix
Tidal Flame
Din
Giant Tortoise
Bomb Dragon
EDIT: You wrote Revival Stone twice.
Aarikku
I'm guessing it involves Banyo Dragon, Bomb Dragon and Salamen.
Two things I must warn:
1) Those dragons are not meant to be overly complicated. Don't make them too complex.
2) Banyo Dragon and Bomb Dragon are important cards to the game and fictional characters based thereon. (Hey, my spellcheck says that thereon is a word! Sweet!) Thus, they need good art.
Only accept those dragons if you're ready for such a responsibility.
Naardaas
Well, I guess I'll stick with Bomb Dragon for now but I'll do those other 2 later.
Good job with thereon. This makes twice you've used it here.
Aarikku
I already called Empress of Flames. Cassandra uses it in Season 2.
And Revival Stone's so important, I had to say it twice.
Naardaas
Okay, then I'll take Metal Phoenix
Aarikku
'Kay, but that's also an important card. Be cautious, young Padawaan.
Naardaas
You been waitin' to call me that awhile, or was that 'cause I called you Number One?
Aarikku
Just came to me. It was originally 'Don't screw it up!', but I figured I'd lighten up a bit.
Naardaas
That's the Eric I enjoy blogging with. Okay, I'll take care with these.
I hope Bryan isn't too disappointed. Just kidding; I couldn't care less.
Aarikku
I doubt he'll ever find out. I'm off to a good start with the sketches, though Empress of Flames doesn't look too impressive.
Naardaas
Yeah, I know. The original really wasn't that good. You giving her a bust or not?
Aarikku
She had a bust. Too much of a bust.
Naardaas
Y'know, I never thought I'd hear or read those words from any male.
Other than that little issue, everything else work out?
Aarikku
The bust wasn't the problem per say, it was the cleavage.
I'm not sure to what you're referring in the second bit.
Naardaas
First off, it's [per se].
And I'm referring to the other sketches.
Aarikku
Oh, right.
Cerebus turned out really good. Revival Stone I finally ended up making as a runestone. Hot Salamander should turn out fine, it's hard to tell for Bulls-eye Dragon. I probably shouldn't have based it so much off Bryan's. And Forest is a drawing of two trees. It's hard to mess up.
Aarikku
One down, 79-some to go:
I also found out the word is Cerberus, not Cerebus. I feel smart -_-;
That, by the way, is what every dog in the entire world looks like to me.
Naardaas
Ah-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha! COOL!
Aarikku
You'd better start catching up; this is fun!

Naardaas
Again, I'll get right on it.
One thing that's dawned on me is that many of these cards are subpar in stats. They need more ATK and/or DEF to be good. Especially Tsunami Dragon.
Aarikku
Yeah, that's why I never really considered them a really high priority.
Also, among the cards Bryan made that I never used are some Tsunami Dragon support. Nothing as good as I gave Noble Dragon, but it's something.
EDIT:
Considering the speed at which I'm drawing these, I'ma also snag the following:
-Tsunami Dragon
-Banyo Dragon
-Ice Prison
-Leafer
-Dark Incisor
-Will o' Wisp
-Sleight of Hand
-Rock Recoiler
-Nova Pendant
-Jade Fist
EDIT AGAIN:
Sorry, didn't notice you already called Tsunami. I finished sketching mine; I'll just use both as alternate arts.
Naardaas
If I may; what I wanted to do was:
A) Make Mustang Dragon's DEF 3600. That way its Flavour Text will actually be true.
B) Make Tsunami Dragon's ATK/DEF 3900/2400. A Level four shouldn't be bestable by LV3 monsters.
C) Give some of these creatures Categories. The Rootwaters Swamp Beasts, Metal Phoenix the Phoenix Category, Din a Stone Spirit and, what was the other one?... Giant Tortoise, Turtle/Tortoise Category.
Aarikku
I'm hesitant about the Tsunami Dragon change. The strongest themeless Dragon should be a type that has other Dragons to support it. These are Bryan's cards, and I'm happy to leave them as they are.
Not to mention that Tsunami Dragon isn't beatable by ANY Level Three monster. It ties the strongest.
Categories, however, I will do. 'Course, Din isn't a Stone spirit. But I will add the Phoenix, Swamp Beast and Turtle categories.
EDIT:

And my first batch is complete.
Naardaas
Wow, you changed Bull's-eye Dragon quite a bit. It was a Colourless Dragon with a serpent body. It's now a Metal Dragon - Machine rip-off of Mechagodzilla (not really, that's just for dramatic effect). Kinda makes saying my Bomb Dragon changed too much kinda hypocritical.
They're both extremely cool, though.
Oh, and to argue your second point, for Four Mana they can play any Level three Dragon and equip Nova Pendant.
And what the hell were you trying to do with "[i]isn't[/b]"?!
Aarikku
Bulls-eye Dragon was ALWAYS a mechanical dragon. Its type was just wrong. Believe me, if I had've redesigned it, I'd have given it eyes.
For the record:

Both have jetpacks, lasers for hands and a nose and almost the exact same head. I think Bryan's had more of a tail ending than mine. And shorter legs, apparently.
Also, this from the guy who did that Mustang Dragon? Mustang Dragon used to be just a light blue winged lizard. You made it mostly orange and pink, gave it two more sets of wings and deleted its upper horn.
Anywho, the beginnings of Batch #2:

Naardaas
Sorry, I worded that wrong. It was a cyborg before, and now it's purely mechanical.
And yes, I changed Mustang Dragon quite a bit. I'm a hypochrite. But, it was mostly beige, with purple stripes on it. And I didn't delete any horns. You've done this before.
Anyway, nice work on the cards. I'll try to get a few more in today.
Aarikku
Actually, from what I can tell, it was always purely mechanical. I guess only Bryan knows for sure, but it has guns for hands. That's normally the sign of a robot.
See, when we first added Mana to Shmod, there were so few Metal monsters that I figured I'd just can the entire type. In fact, I think the only two were Metal Phoenix and Bulls-eye Dragon.
Anywho, then along came Broken_Wings. Her deck was purely Metal. With that in mind, when I added Metal Phoenix into Lackey, I added its Metal type back in. I dunno why I didn't add it for Bulls-eye. I guess I figured it was fine being Colourless.
Naardaas
Fascinating hostory lecture Professor Leric.
And I'm pretty sure it was a cyborg. See the green, red-striped parts of its body. That looks organic to me. I'd say it's a cyborg. But yours, well, it's more robot than your own Bionic Noble Dragon.
Aarikku
I guess there is green. Whatever. And Bionic Noble Dragon... hm... I guess its flavour text says it's a cyborg, though I intended it as a robot. I dunno on that one.
Naardaas
Did you really dislike the redesign of Mustang Dragon that much man?
Aarikku
I don't like redesigning any of Bryan's cards. I mean, sure, Revival Stone really needed it. But if Mustang Dragon was supposed to be blue, I don't see why it shouldn't be now.
Naardaas
Dude, I have a copy of Mustang Dragon. It is not blue at all. It is beige and pruple. No blue. Tsunami Dragon is blue. Now if you wanted it blue you should have told me that.
Aarikku
It's hard to tell with pencil crayons. And whaddya mean you have a copy? Did you print one? It'll still be the same colour as on a computer.
My point being, it's definitely not ORANGE.
Naardaas
Yeah, I added that.
Pyrah
I choose:
Anagora
Angel's Mirror
Empress Dragonfly
Erweenga
Fishman
Octo-Flame
Phoenix
For now at least. Now it's just a matter of getting my printer to work for me to get the references out....
Aarikku
Hey, you made it. Neat.
Feel free to not go as overboard on shading as you normally do. A couple 20% black brushes on one side and a couple 20% white brushes on the other is all you need.
EDIT: One other thing - if you want to change Erweenga into some other completely different creature, go for it. Erweenga's a Homestar Runner creature.
Pyrah
| Quote: | | Erweenga's a Homestar Runner creature. |
Really? Well, I was going to make it scarier looking anyways. That, and I'm going to draw it in my sketchbook first.
Aarikku
Well, feel free to come up with a new name for it.
Pyrah
Well, Erweenga's a name you don't oft come across, so it stays.
Aarikku
See, the problem is that you come across it twice - here, and on Homestar Runner.
Naardaas
My God, Pyrah posted three consecutive comments!
Pyrah
Make that 4-ish. Anyways, I made Erweenga look like a giant worm and something you don't want to mess with, so how about naming it Tyrant Worm or something of the likes.
Aarikku
Tyrant Worm sounds good.
Pyrah
I think I'll start working on Empress Dragonfly today, but I'm going to the trailer tonight and my sisters are coming this afternoon from Toronto, so I'll see how much I can get done before I have to play Hostess for my sister's boyfriend.
I'd also like to work on:
Salamen
Thunder Lion
And maybe a couple more.
Aarikku
Don't take too many at once - you tend to go slower than Naardaas or I. Though I didn't really want to do Salamen or Thunder Lion anyway.
While I'm here, I think I'll snag Cactus Jack.
Naardaas
Playing Hostess for your sister's boyfriend. My greatest sympathies Pyrah.
This maybe a bad idea given my current work load, but screw it. Give me:
Chaneller's Blade
Soul Healer
Gigrant
I'll see what I can do.
And if you won't take the Mustang Dragon design I sent, then at least let me submit it in the future as a new card.
Aarikku
Yeah, no problem on that. But that's not at all what Mustang Dragon should look like.
We're making good progress...

Pyrah
I may be slower to put up cards, but I make up for it in quality of the art. As for being a hostess for my sister's boyfriend, it's pretty easy because he enjoys video games as much as I do. But for the moment he's out with my sister's grocery shopping for the weekend.
Naardaas
Well, you're certainly more tolerant of people like that than I am.
I just realized how off my Crocodile looks. I was hoping for something like Deinosuchus, but it ended up looking like something from Roswell.
Pyrah
If only I knew how to 3D render in Blender, because then I could just choose what position looks best for the creature(s)....
Aarikku
Just use the position in which Bryan's was in.
Pyrah
I was going to say something, but I decided it wasn't worth it.
Aarikku
Ta-da! Nova Pendant 2.0.
Naardaas
My God! Epic Pass!
Aarikku
Works for me. That was only like 10-20 minutes of Colourshopping.
Naardaas
It's mostly the background, but still really good.
Aarikku
Ah. The Cloud tool goes a long way.
Aarikku
Here's what I think three more of Bryan's cards are supposed to look like:

I'm really stretching what counts as a Humanoid.
Naardaas
Cactus Jack: "Are you feelin' lucky... PUNK?!"
It does make sense. If it's anthropomorphic, it's technically humanoid. Not a big stretch.
Aarikku
Din's done!
Naardaas
Man, I forgot about the ReArts!
Looks cool, except I'm still trying to figue out what Din is supposed to be.
Aarikku
I figured it was some sort of animated kiln machine with flamethrowers on it.
Naardaas
That makes the most sense.
