Ah, the Chimera of Fate. The only creature to rival Noble Dragon bar none.
This card has one huge advantage over Noble Dragon: the ability to be played for free. Azure Lion, Cloud Eagle and Scarred Serpent can be vanished to summon this beast without Tapping a single Mana. And they can Vanish from everywhere except the Deck... oh, and already Vanished, but that's not n possible anyway.
As Lightning-Armoured Chimera goes, the evolved form of Chimera can turn and LV4 or less monster into a weakling. However, it would have real problems against MetaDragons.
But the Chimera lineage is great. I'll give the card itself 3.5/5, the lineage 4.5/5. They're that good yo.
PEACE!!

I actually invented Chimera of Fate after you said something about Noble Dragon's rival while making your Warlord Dragons. I figured "Well, it shouldn't be a dragon. So I'll look to other mythology."
I dunno how I came up with it being a Chimera, but it is. Half-lion, half-eagle and half-snake, and it has a fish tail for no reason at all.
Though Chimera of Fate can be played for free, to do so requires three specific cards directly from the hand. Note that Noble Dragon can also be played first turn, and though it's not free, it only requires 2 specific cards, as well as a Fire card, and leaves you with a card in your Mana pool.
Currently, support-wise, Chimera of Fate and Noble Dragon are about equal. Chimera has its three parts as separate monsters, which creates a near-complete decktype. It also has a Transformation monster. Noble Dragon has Noble Wyrm, Heir Dragonling, Golden Flames and two Fusion monsters. So in numbers, Noble Dragon wins 5-4.
Still, it's a toss-up. The age-old battle between Chimera of Fate and Noble Dragon will probably never reach a conclusion. Chimera of Fate itself is a Level 3 beatstick. That's it. 3/5. But it's got a fair amount of support, and will get more in the future.
Oh, and the reason why I want to give Lightning-Armoured Chimera a new effect is that its current one just doesn't help. It can already beat any Level 3 or lower and almost any Level 4 monster in battle. And in Shmod, if it can do that, it doesn't matter that the opponent has less ATK than normal.

So what's your rating?
|
Aarikku
|
3/5, as I stuck in the middle there somewhere.

Naardaas
|
No, you rated for just the card. I mean the set as a whole.

Hm... cheating the Mana system is a powerful effect, but not exactly a unique one. Noble Dragon, Skeletons and Frogs can do it too. Honestly, a Chimera/Storm deck isn't anything spectacular, in my opinion. 3.5/5, but I'm gonna see if I can come up with a Spell Attack for Chimera that'll boost it up.

Now that Lightning-Armoured Chimera is revamped and better than ever, think the series deserves at least a 4/5 now?

Aarikku

Yeah, sure. 4/5 for the series it is.
