Here's another decktype that you probably didn't know about - Bryan-style Fire.
A Bryan-style Fire deck involves discarding monsters from the hand to increase the power of your Fire monsters. Cerebus, for example, gains an extra attack. Hot Salamander can lower the ATK of an opposing monster. But the biggest and baddest of any of the Bryan-style Fire monsters is Metal Phoenix.
When you revive it from the Graveyard, likely with Revival Stone, you can discard a Fire monster to blast your opponent's field to smithereens. Getting Metal Phoenix into the Graveyard will be easy - just discard it for Cerebus or Hot Salamander. But there's a problem.
Shmod only contains 1 themeless card that revives monsters. And it's limited. So chances are, you'll only use Metal Phoenix's effect once per game, if you're extremely lucky. The other way, summon regular Phoenix and use Metalize, suffers from the problem of being really expensive Mana-wise.
Until someone can come up with a fair way to bring back monsters, Metal Phoenix is stuck at a 2.5/5 from me, despite its potential.

Metal Phoenix, uh. Interesting concept, but even interesting concepts are no good if they cannot be used repeatedly. Decent ATK and DEF for 4 mana, but sorry Bryan, I agree with 2.5/5.

This being a Metal & Fire type monster, it sure looks a lot like Articuno from Pokemon. :/ I agree with the ratings so far. A 2.5/5 for me as well.
