A Little Bit Of ColourJust thought I'd show some works in progress stuff
I hate this MYFF stuff....
Edit: I hate it when things aren't easy to fix........
Aarikku
Me too. I recommend a Photobucket or Maj account. I'm currently attempting to download the file.
EDIT: Ah, here we go. Looks pretty good - a lot oranger than I expected.
Pyrah
I got a Photobucket account, but I'll wait until I get back home to put anything on it. So far I like my theme though. ^=^
Edit: Actually, I just downloaded Cloudrunner at school, and then uploaded him to my account. I'm going to see what I can do with it.
Aarikku
That's even worse! All it is is:

ex.
| Code: | | |
Pyrah
How's that worse? You recommended That I get an account on there, and I want to explore what Photobucket does. I'm going to go edit my comment again.
Edit: I hate this crap.
Aarikku
I dunno why what you just had didn't work, but I fixed it somehow.
Naardaas
I thought Cloudrunner was a Dragon, and now it's a Dinosaur. I'm confused, especially since Aarikku told me a Dinosaur Category was out of the question.
Other than that, it looks good so far.
Aarikku
That's a good point. Pyrah, I've always made it a dragon.
Pyrah
Why are Dinosaurs out of the question? Every card game has them as far as I know. Besides, Cloudrunner looks too much like a Dinosaur to be a Dragon.
How'd you fix it?
Aarikku
'Every' card game? How many do you play?
I'd rather not have a Category that'll remain unsupported, especially when Cloudrunner's existed as Dragon (and among the best Level One Dragons) since the game's begun.
EDIT: I should also point out that while I'm not a fan of adding Dinosaurs to Shmod, I never said they were 'out of the question'. Greg seems to like putting words in my mouth.
Pyrah
Okay, I'll change it back. But you still haven't told me how you fixed the picture.
Naardaas
Forgive me for using Hyperbole Aarikku. You didn't tell me that I know; you more or less said what you just told Pyrah. The biggest reasons for the decision are clear.
Pyrah
*whines in the back of an almost empty classroom* How did you fix iiiiiiitttt?????
Naardaas
We get it. You wanna know how he fixed it. No reason to start whining.
Pyrah
I wonder if he's just trying to avoid me. I haven't seen him in days...
Aarikku
I don't know how I fixed the picture, okay? And I haven't been avoiding you - I was working on the Osprey cafe all day yesterday. Which isn't day's', by the way.
Pyrah
Actually, yes it has been days. Wednesday, Thursday and today. I don't keep track things very well, or you don't tell me when you're going to absent from the Airlock or not. And news, some group overtook the Airlock, put tables and chairs in it, and I think I spotted a beer bottle of sorts.
Aarikku
I'm at film club every Wednesday (you really could've asked someone). Thursday I was figuring out who was selling Osprey cafe tickets. Today, people were filming in the airlock and using it as a bar scene.
Don't you normally go to the DnD people anyway? That's where Spencer and I ended up today.
Pyrah
Oh.
Naardaas
Why'd you delete my post? I don't think I said anything wrong. Or did I?
Pyrah
You're post was deleted? >8'C
Naardaas
Yeah, the one where I asked if you were gonna colour the rest of the card. That didn't sound too rude, did it?
Pyrah
No, it wasn't rude, but as I said, this is just a Work In Progress (aka WIP). I'll get it done eventually, but I was working on a contest entry for a good portion of Saturday, and today I just wanted to rest my eyes from the computer. I think I spent five to seven hours (almost straight) on it and came up with two different versions for my entry and sent both.
By the end of the day, my eyes were fried.
Aarikku
Links would've been preferred over such big images.
Pyrah
Okay.
Naardaas
Whoa. Such. Big. Images. Awesome. Overload.
Cooooooool.
Pyrah
>x'D
Naardaas
Eh? Why? Eberything looks great.
Pyrah
It was just your reaction.
Naardaas
Okay... Good for that?...
Pyrah
What? Why are you overreacting to a simple emoticon?
Naardaas
No, it's your reaction to my reaction. Not used to that. Sorry.
Pyrah
Okaaay....
Naardaas
It's just that most people don't react to my opinions at all, or very much.
Pyrah
We need more than three people on this web-site...
Naardaas
I agree. But other than us (and possibly Jenova_Alchemist and Broken_Wings), anyone who signs on just only that - signs on and never posts. I don't know any way to actually get people involved.
Pyrah
I'll try to get some people involved soon.
Naardaas
How? I know it's easy enough to get people to enroll, but how do you intend to get them to participate actively and makes cards?
Pyrah
I'm going to find people who like making things, especially cards. Next semester I should be able to find some people in my art class. I'm going to browse DA for a while to find more people in the meantime.
Naardaas
Sounds cool.
Aarikku
I like Titan (would've liked to see the whole monster, but whatever)... but why has it become a Wyurm? What was wrong with Wurm? Or even Worm, for that matter?
Naardaas
I like the word "Wyurm" Sounds cool, and looks great!!!
Aarikku
Sure, but 'Wyurm' isn't actually a spelling of 'Worm'. Not a common one, anyway. Methinks we should use Wurm for worms and Wyrm for the dragon-ish variety.
Naardaas
Shouldn't that be up to the person making the card?
And at any rate, you could technically interpret this name as being a tutle and a proper name. And "Wyurm" would make a great name for something like this.
Aarikku
I'm just saying, I'd prefer the actual word for the described creature.
Naardaas
Again, I'd have to defend Pyrah's choice. 1st Ammendment Right: right yo free speech (among other things). As big a point as you have, she has a right to name it that.
Aarikku
The right of free speech?! I'm not oppressing, I'm suggesting. Jesus Christ. Stop taking everything so seriously.
Naardaas
I know that, but in the modern orld that point is somewhat glossed over, and many people try to ignore it. And, as someone who believes heavily in free speech, it's become a knee-jerk reaction for me to quote it.
Pyrah
Man you guys like to bicker like my Cockitiels. I just wrote 'Wyurm' because I wanted it to look cool, and I think it is.
Naardaas
Thanks for comparing me to a bird brain, Pyrah. Really appreciate that.
And I know it sounds cool. That's what I said. I'm for the word.
Pyrah
I didn't mean bird brain, I didn't say bird brain. All I meant was that you to like to fight with each other like my birds do.
Aarikku
And thus, you're beginning to understand WHY we bicker.
Pyrah
}x'D
Naardaas
That's not at all why we bicker. We bicker because we have different opinions on everything, and neither of us is willing to compromise with the other.
Aarikku
And when you don't have any good points, you pretend I said something else.
Pyrah
You guys really need to lighten up, a lot.
Aarikku
It's hard to tell how light someone's being when it's pure text. That's actually another problem.
jadecavy

| Pyrah wrote: | | You guys really need to lighten up, a lot. | I agree. This is getting a little... over the top.

Read this, please. | My point is the same as your point; it is a little hard to tell. Meaning that you should make it a little more evident that you're not trying to get at each other's necks.
Aarikku
All this because of a 'y'.
jadecavy
I just think that it's a little heavy for a forum. Can't we all get along?
Aarikku
We're getting along fine. See, we normally bicker about stuff, drop the subject and talk about something completely different the next day.
Which is easier to do when SOME people don't keep talking about so-called arguments a DAY after they took place.
The above was not meant to be as harsh as you probably think it is.
jadecavy
Ah well. I know a lot of people like this...
Naardaas
| Aarikku wrote: | | And when you don't have any good points, you pretend I said something else. |
That's actually not what I do. Ever since I started raking Academic English, I have the idea that everything is a metaphor stuck in my head. And so, I often read things into a situation that aren't there.(Please note that this isn't continuing the arguement, just explaining myself.)
Aarikku
I do the same thing. I just focus on trying to figure out life instead of conversation.
I'll be giving you a chance to read into stuff when I start writing Shmod 3. I've started planning it; it's looking really good. Metaphors at every turn.
Naardaas
Then it's not going to be so much of a sketch comedy?
Aarikku
Actually, since I'm writing it, probably still, yeah.
Naardaas
I knew there was a reason you weren't a Fanfiction.net writer.
Oh well, I can deal with that, provided the main character isn't a complete idiot.
Aarikku
*sigh* This is how our bickerings start.
Naardaas
Maybe I should elaborate a bit more (I'm thinking my ambiguity is a big factor in our bickering). What I thought was, perhaps you would want to write more than a few comedic stories if you were a member.
Aarikku
I was referring to you seemingly calling my characters idiots. And I'm just talking out of experience - I've been writing for years, and not once come up with one entirely serious story.
Naardaas
Not all your characters - Tyson specifically. Between calling Bill O'Reilly Scottish and saying 5000 is better worse than 15000... Well, you do the math.
Aarikku
Meh. I'd have had any character call O'Reilly Scottish. And Tyson didn't say 5000 was worse than 15000 because of his math skills - which are actually pretty decent; first chapter, he knew exactly how much Mana he'd need to get that 8500-ATK Sigma Dragon - it was because he couldn't beat the 5000-ATK Deus ex Machina Dragon but could beat the three 3000-ATK Bionics. Which I had thought was pretty obvious.

That's what english teachers do. Screw you up and brainwash you. I've felt that way since the last time I went to the doctors... Maybe they implanted me with something...

...True, but 3000*3 is 9000, not 15000. And counting Mana is simple addition/subtraction; his error was in multiplication.
Pyrah
I just hate my English teacher, and I'm glad that I finally switched out. Thing is, though, I won't be getting the original credit, and I have no idea if I'll be writing an exam or not now with only three weeks left in the semester.

Oh. Crap. That was my mistake somehow. I'll go and fix that. I'd guess I was working on that chapter a bit too late in the evening.

WEll, that's not entirely unexpected. The two subjects that get nearly everyone's ire: Math and English.

Don't worry about it. I made a worse error in Chapter 1 of Apocalypse when I had Michelle play Replenish twice in 1 game.
Aarikku
Well, at least no one noticed.
Naardaas
I got lucky. After I saw it on my computer I said to myself... well I don't want to repeat what I said.
I'll just fix the chapter and it'll be no harm done.
