Apocalypse is going on a hiatus until I can get the entire thing straightened up (my cut ideas and selected ones are mixing, I'm deciding details out of order, and I can't decide what to do with The Reaper). I probably won't post for it again for awhile, so feel free to shine.

As for other elements in chapters, you did use Chains of Olympus, but ever thought of mentioning some epic card nobody'd heard of that has power beyond mortal comprehention?

Yeah, but combining real villains with card games is what made Yugioh and GX so bloody stupid. There's absolutely no reason to involve card games with the fate of the world. Look at Yugioh: Duelist Kingdom. The plot was based around Pegasus trying to steal Yugi's necklace.
And they end up playing a CARD GAME. Win or lose, Pegasus is no closer nor any farther from just beating the crap out of Yugi and TAKING the necklace.
Likewise, your Marcel summoning a grim reaper from a trading card for the sole purpose of having said reaper play a card game against Marc. Why couldn't the reaper just chop off Marc's head?

And see, these ideas can work. When I'm uninspired, I write outtake chapters with old ideas I never used. You know, just for the hell of it. You should try it sometime. It's very theraputic.

It's for comparisson mostly. I can't count on one hand how many times I cut something out, then when writing an outtakes I go "Crap. This coulda worked." With you it's probably different, but for you it could help with inspiration issues. Could being the key word. I'm not a psychologist after all.

No. Writing and science aren't the same. If you keep making crap up when you're writing, you end up like Star Trek Voyager. Or worse, Andromeda.
